Rock Paper Dragon

An active, team-building, icebreaker, duel game

How To Play Rock Paper Dragon

Materials Needed

Nothing is needed.

This game is great as an icebreaker and our group did it the first night of a youth confrence.

First, everyone finds someone and plays basic "Rock-Paper-Scissors" with them. Then the loser attaches themselves onto the winners by grabbing their shoulders like a "train". We are going to call that pair "team A". "Team A" then finds another team or pair (Team B) to verse. If "team A" beats "Team B" then "Team B" has to attach to the back of team A's train. That group verses another group and so on eventually every group in the room is attached in one big dragon and they make a loop around the room.

It is not really as confusing as it sounds. A prize can be awarded to the person at the front of the dragon.

Thanks for the correction Anthony. We've updated the description so it's correct now.

I think a key word is wrong in the description.

The sentence "Then the winner attaches themselves onto the winners by grabbing their shoulders like a "train".

should be "Then the LOSER attaches themselves onto the winners by grabbing their shoulders like a "train".

Yeah, the chanting one is great! We call it Extreme (or Ultimate) Scissors Paper Rock.
Works really well with our group of 180+ kids ranging in age from 7 to 12.

We played this at youth group last Friday night - went quite well! We also played a round of Coki-Coki (or something like that) where each time you win or lose a round of paper-scissors-rock against someone you evolve or devolve along the chain of animals, until you become a human. And you can only play a match against the same animal type as you.

We also had a random suggestion from someone to try playing rock paper scissors dragon but instead of making a chain, you follow the person around that you lost to and cheer for them! Gets really loud!

Great game. I lead the warm up/game/gathering time for our middle schoolers. They enjoyed this one enough they wanted to play it twice. It goes rather quick, even for a big group, so plan on playing it a couple of times.

Thanks for your free games. I ha e a very small middle school group (grades 6-8) that I am starting with in a few weeks. These kids only know me as a "parent" or church member. I am looking for games that would be appropriate for 4-6 kids. This is what we are starting with and hopefully will grow.
Thank you and God Bless
