Mingle Mingle Mingle

A relaxed icebreaker no prep game for large groups

How To Play Mingle Mingle Mingle

This is a good youth group game to get kids mingling together and to help kids to get to know one another better. It might provide good conversation starters for kids later on.

Get the whole group together. The leader running the game calls out a category question (for example - what is your favourite colour?). Everyone in the group would then have to start calling out their favourite colour to each other and find the others in the group who have the same favourite colour as them.

When a player finds another player who has the same answer as them they then join together (by linking arms) and continue to go round the group looking for more people with the same answer. After a minute or so (completely up to the leader running the game) the leader can call "STOP". Each group needs to call out their answer. If there are two people/groups who have the same answer but are not linked together then they are eliminated from the next round. Or alternatively, to keep everyone involved, you can give each kid five wrapped lollies or popsticks to start with and if they lose one each time this happens.

Be creative with the questions you ask:
- Favourite pizza topping
- Favourite ice cream flavour
- Favourite TV show
- Favourite band
- Favourite book of the Bible
etc.

I've done this before with a large group as a name learning game. Once you have all the members of your group assembled you then must learn each others names. Once done the group raises their hand and I go and check (with one or two member picked at random who have to name the others in their group) and if they succeed I announce that group as the winner and go on to a new topic. Including - city you live in, number of siblings, etc. Obviously the groups with the smallest members have the advantage.

I thought people were gonna say this as like, not a nice title cuz some boys in MY class say "ooh ooh I'm single and I'm ready to mingle..." They then look at us girls, then lead us to toilet, but we're not interested! So I don't see why this game has such a confusing title!
BTW I LUV THE LAYOUT OF THIS GGAAAMMMEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!

I modified it slightly, in case you would like to use this version... have fun!

To Play: I will call out a category question (for example – what is your favorite dessert? Everyone in the group would then get to start calling out their favorite dessert to each other and find the others in the group who have the same favorite dessert as them.

When a player finds another player with the same answer, they join together by linking arms and continue to go round the group looking for more people with the same answer. After 1 minute, I will call "PAUSE; (or elicit more fun word)". Each group calls out their answer. If there are 2+ people/groups who have the same answer but are not linked together, they do not get a point that round. If everyone with your answer is already linked with you, you each do get a point that round. Object is to have as many points at end as you can.
Track your own points! Honor system. What questions can I answer?
Round 1: 1 min. (Favorite movie?... GO!)
Round 2: 1 min. CATCH: Now, if I can hear what you are saying, (stand in corner of room), you are OUT for that round. Have a seat until round is finished, do not get a point. (Favorite breakfast food)
Round 3: Same, but I’m in middle of room. (Favorite game or sport to play?)
4: Same, but 45 seconds and I’m walking around. (Favorite way to help others? Fam/friends/strangers…)
5: Same, but 35 seconds. (What do you want to be when you grow up?)
6: Same, but 25 seconds. (What is your favorite quality in a friend?)
7: Same, but 15 seconds. (Favorite class in school?)
8: Same, but 5 seconds. (Favorite pizza topping?)
