How To Play Colour Chase
Materials Needed
Face paint, glow-sticks, or a easy colour indicator
Best played in a park or large open field with clear landmarks for bases.
Setup
- Divide players into at least 3 equal teams: Red, Blue, and Yellow (or whatever colours suit. You can also create more teams if numbers require)
- Assign each team a base at a distinct point around the perimeter of the playing area
- Each team's colour is indicated by a paint swatch on the wrist (or a coloured glow stick if playing at night)
- One person per base must remain there at all times — a team leader or volunteer — to hand out new colours to incoming players. Base keepers cannot be tagged.
How to Play
Each team is hunting one other team in a chain:
? Red tags Blue ? ? Blue tags Yellow ? ? Yellow tags Red
A team can only tag their assigned target — Red cannot tag Yellow, Yellow cannot tag Blue, and so on.
When you get tagged, you must:
1. Go immediately to the tagging team's base
2. Receive their colour (new paint swatch or swap your glow stick)
3. You are now on that team — including their tagging target
You may not tag anyone until you have received your new colour
Winning
The game ends when:
- One team tags everyone else — that team wins immediately, or
- The timer runs out — the team with the most players at that moment wins
