How To Play Egg and Spoon Race

An egg and spoon race is as simple as it sounds and it's a perfect family game for all ages.

It's usually wise to hard boil the eggs you'll be using in advance - this just means there is a lot less mess when the eggs eventually fall off the spoons.

The race works like any normal race. Mark a start and finish line and then provide each runner with a spoon and an egg. Ensure each runner has their egg balanced on their spoon to start with and then begin the race by saying "3, 2, 1, GO!" or "Ready, steady, go!" The first player to the finish line with their egg on their spoon wins. Depending on the age of the players you may allow dropped eggs to be picked up and re-placed on the spoon and then the runner can continue.

This game works really well in teams as a relay - players must run to marker and back, and then carefully pass their egg to their team mate using only their spoon. Dropped eggs must be picked up with the spoon only.

This game is also a perfect Easter themed game - eggs are a symbol of new life and are often a big part of easter themed activities. Add this easy game into your family easter activities.
