How To Play Buzz Fizz
To set up, get the group to sit a circle facing one another. Choose a player to start and then the game-play can begin. The first player will start counting by saying "1". Then the next player says "2" and so on.
Here comes the challenge... there are two rules:
- When the number is a multiple of five, instead of saying the number, the player must say "BUZZ". For example: 15 is "BUZZ"
- When the number contains a five, the number five part is substituted by saying "BUZZ". For example: 52 is "BUZZ-TWO"
If a player hesitates for too long, makes a mistake or forgets to say "BUZZ" - they're out. Play continues until only a winner remains (or you run out of time!)
If you're looking for an additional challenge, you can add an extra rule which requires each player to stand up when saying "BUZZ". If they forget or take too long - they're out.
And finally, to add an even more challenging layer, we can introduce "FIZZ"!
Fizz is played in the same way but instead of subtituting five and multiples of five, "FIZZ" is for the number seven and multiples of seven. So 14 is "FIZZ", 17 is "ONE-FIZZ", and if you make it to 57 that would be "BUZZ-FIZZ"!
